MJF is 54 Days Away From Being the Longest Reigning AEW World Heavyweight Champion!

What a wild year it has been for AEW World Heavyweight Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF). After defeating Jon Moxley to become the company's youngest World Heavyweight Champion, MJF hasn't kicked back and taken it easy like they do up in Connecticut. MJF successfully defended his title against "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson, NJPW's Hiroshi Tanahashi, Darby Allen, Sammy Guevara, "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry, Ricky Starks, and most recently Adam Cole at Wembley Stadium in London, UK.

MJF has also managed to win over the fans during the summer months where he teamed up in an odd pairing with Adam Cole. Between comedy skits and tension so thick you could cut it with a knife, "Better than you Bay Bay" has proven to be one of the hottest storylines of the summer. Just when you think they are going to implode and throw hands, they exclaim "DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE" and are back on the same page. This is certainly some of the best material to come out of AEW to date. Currently "Better than you Bay Bay" are the ROH World Tag Team Champions, so it would appear that AEW management aren't ready to let the sun set on this summer BRO-mance just yet.

As seen on Dynamite this past Wednesday, MJF is entering a program with current ROH Television Champion, Samoa Joe. This wouldn't be the first time these two have met as many have pointed out when MJF was doing "extra" work for WWE, Joe shoved him out of the way on camera during a backstage walk to the ring segment. MJF is not afraid to reference WWE in his promo work and it will be fun to watch two masters of the mic go at it.

As of today, MJF has held his championship title for 292 days. He is 54 day shy of Kenny Omega's 346 day record to become the longest running AEW World Heavyweight Champion.

Are you a fan of MJF's partnership with Adam Cole? Do you think he will surpass Kenny Omega's record? Leave a comment and tell me what you think!
