Greetings everyone!
This is my first official blog post to "Chris-en" (see what I did there?) the ReadtheQuest.com website.
So for anyone who doesn't know me (yet), My name is Chris and I have been a streamer/content creator for the past 5 or 6 years. I enjoy retro platforming video games such as Mega Man 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Banjo-Kazooie. I also enjoy A/RPG & MMORPGs like Pokémon, Diablo 2 and World of Warcraft. Now that I'm getting older I have started a family, got married and had a son who is 2 years old as of this writing.
With introductions of the way, feel free to follow me on social media, I'm very active on X if you @ me I will likely respond.
This website will serve as a permanent home for any and all things ChrisBomar Gaming as well as various news articles related to Steam Deck, Proton/GE updates, Blizzard franchise news and patch notes (specifically Diablo and World of Warcraft), and various miscellaneous articles that I find interesting as well. If you're familiar with my X/formerly Twitter Account then you will find more of the same, but mostly in longer format. Gone will be the days of linking to other creators websites as I venture into the era of "The Quest".
So why "Read The Quest"? As far back as I can remember, I have been terrible at reading instructions/quests and just brute forcing my way through everything. Often times I find that games can be a bit too obvious in terms of level designs and objectives, so I usually just skip out on the reading part. This behavior tends to land me in trouble in video games and I end up having to go back to... READ THE QUEST only to find out what I was trying to do was incredibly simple and I wasted an embarrassing amount of time doing the wrong things. I found some humor in the phrase over time and use it pretty often irl when someone doesn't read something in front of them and are dumbfounded to what is going on or how to proceed with a task. When coming up with a name for the site I tossed around a handful of ideas but this snapped into my head as if it was in-front of me all along. It also helped the DOTCOM was available for a reasonable amount of money for a domain.
